For the second time in the last few weeks, Tulane University has landed a player from Appalachian State in the transfer portal from Shelby High.
On Thursday, Tulane announced 2021 Shelby High graduate Jack Hollifield had chosen to play for the Green Wave.
A 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive lineman, Hollifield joins 2022 Shelby graduate Santana Hopper in transferring from Appalachian State to Tulane.
A linebacker and tight end for three state title teams at Shelby High, Hollifield played in 23 games in 2022 and 2023 at Virginia Tech before transferring for Appalachian State last season. For the Mountaineers, Hollifield made 11 starts and earned 2nd team All-Sun Belt Conference honors.
