The Carolina Panthers are staying in Charlotte for the foreseeable future – and the naming rights to Bank of America also will remain for a long time.

The Panthers unveiled a $1.3 billion, multi-year renovation of the venue that will modernize the 30-year-old venue while also turning it into a year-round entertainment and community hub.

The renovations will include expanded indoor-outdoor gathering spaces across all levels, including a 500-level social patio with sweeping views of Uptown Charlotte, larger, more dynamic scoreboards and video displays, upgraded seating and premium hospitality areas, increased restroom capacity and flexible event spaces to host games, concerts, corporate events, and community gatherings, expanded retail, food, and beverage options to enhance the fan experience, back-of-house improvements including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and accessibility upgrades, new 4,400-seat entertainment venue near the North Gate (expected to host 80–100 events annually) and an indoor practice center (101,400 square feet) on adjacent property that is slated to open next year.

The ongoing project will be the fifth major renovation to the facility; Other renovations took place in 2007, 2014 through 2017, 2019 and 2020 through 2021.

The total investment for the renovations are $1.3 billion with $650 million apiece from the City of Charlotte (tourism tax funds) and the Tepper Sports & Entertainment group.

Interior work starts this year with completion targeted for 2030.

Additionally, Bank of America and Carolina Panthers extended the naming rights for the stadium to continue one of NFL’s longest-standing naming rights partnerships.
