Belmont Middle School won its fourth Gaston County Conference basketball title on Tuesday when it upset previously unbeaten York Chester 42-34 in the 2026 title game at Huss High School.

Belmont won previous titles in 2001, 2011 and 2022.

Boys final- No. 1 York Chester vs. No. 2 Belmont at Huss HS – Belmont 42-34: The Wildcats of head coach Pet Sumner were led by Julian Vickers (17 points), Levi Kincaid (11 points, 15 rebounds), Price Chambers (6 points) and Tyler Singleton (6 points). York Chester, which won its first regular season title since 2005, was led by C.J. Edwards’ 21 points and Antonio Monroe’s 9.
