Seth Willis

Four former local standouts were honored by the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Region 10 in its Division III honors announced on Tuesday, including the pitcher of the year.

Seth Willis, a 2019 West Lincoln High graduate, took that honor while pitching for Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. Willis went 4-1 with a 3.17 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 12 appearances (five starts). Willis also was named a first team pitcher in Region 10 for the Cobras, who went 15-0 to win the Region 10 Division III regular-season crown and finished 27-11 as Region runner-up.

Other local products gaining honors were Caldwell’s Tyler Bradley (North Gaston 2018) and Rockingham Community College’s Gabe Duncan (East Lincoln 2019) and Trenton Wood (East Lincoln 2019).

Bradley hit .235 with one home run and 25 RBIs and was named first team designated hitter.

Duncan hit .260 with 22 RBIs and was named a first team outfielder.

And Wood went 2-1 with one save with a 5.93 ERA in 11 appearances (four starts) and was named second team pitcher.
