Four Gaston County products were named All-USA South football for the spring season that was completed on Saturday – former Huss standouts Chase Nixon and Trevor Hargett, former Cherryville standout Jace Brittain and former Forestview standout Aaron Bennett.

Nixon was named all-conference East Division wide receiver, Hargett all-conference East Division placekicker, Brittain all-conference West Division offensive lineman and Bennett all-conference West Division running back.

Nixon, a 2018 Huss graduate, caught 27 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns for Averett (1-3, 1-1).

Hargett, a 2019 Huss graduate, converted 23 of 24 extra points and two of four field goals for Methodist (4-1, 3-0), which won the East Division title and lost 31-20 to Huntingdon, Ala., on Saturday in the league championship game.

Brittain, a 2019 Cherryville graduate, started four games for Maryville (2-2, 0-2).

And Bennett, a 2018 Forestview graduate, rushed for 157 yards and caught two passes for 37 yards and a touchdown for Brevard (4-1, 2-1).
