Saturday’s college football roundup: Former East Lincoln standout helps North Carolina make historic comeback

Saturday was a big day in college football for local products, especially for North Carolina linebacker Chazz Surratt as the Tar Heels made a historic rally.
Here’s a look at how it all transpired:

North Carolina 59, Wake Forest 53: Chazz Surratt (2016 East Lincoln graduate) had 14 tackles, including one for a quarterback sack, for the Tar Heels (6-2), who made a historic rally to beat visiting Wake Forest.
North Carolina tied a school record by rallying from a 21-point deficit – the Tar Heels trailed 45-24 in the third quarter – and rallied from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit for the first time since a 28-27 win over East Carolina in 1973. North Carolina is idle next week before hosting No. 1 Notre Dame on Nov. 27.
Miami, Fla. 25, Virginia Tech 24: Dax Hollifield (Shelby 2018) had 13 tackles and one quarterback sack as the Hokies lost to fall to 4-4 on the season. Virginia Tech visits Pittsburgh next Saturday.
N.C. State 38, Florida State 22: The Wolfpack (5-3) snapped a two-game losing streak with a blowout home win over Florida State. Jaylon Scott (Shelby 2019) played as a reserve linebacker for N.C. State, which hosts unbeaten Liberty next Saturday.
Mississippi 59, South Carolina 42: Nick Muse (South Point 2017) caught one pass for 19 yards for the Gamecocks, who fell to 2-5. South Carolina hosts Missouri next Saturday.
Cincinnati 55, East Carolina 17: Aaron Ramseur (Crest 2016) and Chris Willis (Crest 2016) made four tackles apiece for the Pirates, who fell to 1-6. East Carolina visits Temple next Saturday.
