Shelby’s girls basketball team and North Lincoln’s boys basketball team got their sites and times on Wednesday for Saturday’s state title games.

High school boys basketball
Weddington 81, Crest 57 (Tuesday): Mari Adams (16 points, 6 rebounds), Ray Hall (15 points) and Jadin Merritt (9 points, 6 rebounds) in Crest’s Western N.C. 3A championship game loss. The Chargers finished 16-2 overall and Merritt surpassed 1,000 career points in the game.
High school boys soccer
East Lincoln 6, Maiden 0: Landon Graden scored twice with Aaron Singletary, Blake Swanson, Jackson Thrap and Eli Perez scoring one goal apiece for the Mustangs (10-0-1), who clinched at least a share of the South Fork 2A Conference title with the win. Swanson and Caleb Anderson added two assists apiece with Brandon LeFevers and Jason Gonzalez getting one assist each and Will White and Braxton Reeves combining for East Lincoln’s eighth goalkeeping shutout of the season.

East Lincoln 4, Bandys 0 (Tuesday): East Lincoln won on “Senior Night” as Jackson Thrap scored twice, Landon Graden and Jason Gonzalez each scored once, Blake Swanson and Brandon LeFevers had assists and Will White got his 7th goalkeeping shutout of the season. The Senior class (Caleb Anderson, Conner Dallin, Christian Hart, Chase Lynch, Aaron Singletary and White) recorded their 72nd win in 4 years, which is a program record.
College men’s basketball
Belmont Abbey will host a pair of Conference Carolinas tournament games on Thursday.
