High school boys soccer playoffs: Forestview, Myers Park get top seeds for postseason that begins on Tuesday

The N.C. High School Athletic Association announced the boys soccer playoff pairings for a postseason that begins on Tuesday.

Locally, Forestview and Myers Park took top seeds in the Class 3A and Class 4A Western N.C. playoffs.
Forestview enters after the school’s sixth unbeaten conference title run in school history.
Coach Stanley Janik’s team went 12-0 in the Big South 3A Conference and will make its 22nd straight postseason appearance. As the No. 1 seed, it will host co-Northwestern 3A/4A Conference champion Hickory (11-1) in the opening round of the 3A playoffs.
Myers Park (8-0-1), which won the Southwestern 4A Conference with a 7-0 league record, will host Panther Creek in the first round of the 4A playoffs.
Other playoff participants include Southwestern 2A Conference champion South Point (11-3), South Fork 2A Conference champion East Lincoln (10-1-1), Southern Piedmont 1A Conference champion Christ the King (10-0-2), PAC 7 1A Conference champion Community School of Davidson (13-1), South Meck 4A Conference champion South Meck (8-1), I-Meck 4A Conference champion Hough (7-2-1) and league runner-ups Cramer (11-2-1), Shelby (11-1), Thomas Jefferson (10-2-1), Providence (7-1) and Butler (6-2-1).
Cramer is making its first-ever appearance after losing only to Forestview this season. Coached by Matthew Robertson, the Storm also swept Southwestern 2A champion South Point, and are the West No. 11 3A seed and will visit Montgomery Central.
Forestview’s 22nd playoff appearance will make it the record-holder in Gaston County.
Shelby’s appearance is its Cleveland County-record 31st.
