Charlotte 49ers football schedule changed again

The Charlotte 49ers’ ever-changing football schedule was altered again on Wednesday.

The 49ers are scheduled to host Western Kentucky on Sunday at noon and a determination on a game that would be played Dec. 10, 11 or 12 also will be made on Sunday by Conference USA officials.

The Sunday game conveniently coincides with the Carolina Panthers’ bye week.

Charlotte’s new release stated “the status of the game is contingent upon both teams successfully completing COVID testing protocols this week.”

The previously scheduled Saturday noon home game against Florida International has now been cancelled.

Seven of Charlotte’s 12 games this season have been altered through postponements or cancellations.

The 49ers 2-3 overall this season, including 2-1 in league games, but haven’t played since Oct. 31.
