Charlotte 49ers busy week of football scheduling continues

A busy week of football scheduling continued Thursday for the Charlotte 49ers as they have scheduled future games with N.C. State of the ACC.
The 49ers will play at N.C. State on Sept. 7, 2030 and the Wolfpack will return the game at Charlotte on Sept. 6, 2031.
Earlier this week, the 49ers added two home games for later this season. Charlotte scheduled a Nov. 14 home game against Gardner-Webb on Tuesday and Conference USA rescheduled the previously postponed Florida International home game for Dec. 5.
The upcoming games with N.C. State marks the third home-and-home series that has been slated with an in-state ACC opponent; Charlotte played at Duke last Saturday and will host the Blue Devils in the 2021 season-opener and the 49ers will play at North Carolina in 2024 and host the Tar Heels in 2025.
“This is another fantastic home-and-home series for the Niners,” Charlotte Director of Athletics Mike Hill said in a school news release on Thursday about the N.C. State series. “We strive to schedule games which will excite our fan base, and playing the Wolfpack certainly qualifies. It’s an easy road trip for both programs and will be a really tough ticket.”
Other upcoming home-and-home series include Maryland (2022 home and 2023 away), East Carolina (2024 home and 2025 away), Ole Miss (2026 home and 2027 away) and Appalachian State (2026 away, 2027 home, 2029 away and 2030 home).
The 49ers also have three games remaining on a four-game series with Georgia State (2021-2023). The first game of that series, scheduled for this season, was postponed due to the pandemic.
