Kings Mountain and South Point set up the area’s biggest game of the regular season for next week with impressive Thursday night victories in Big South 3A Conference play.

With games moved up from Friday to Thursday due to Hurricane Ian’s projected Friday rainfall in the area, Kings Mountain routed Forestview 48-7 and South Point rolled past Crest 35-13.

It improves each team to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big South entering next Friday’s game at Kings Mountain’s Gamble Stadium.

Kings Mountain improved to 6-0 in a season for the eighth time in school history and first time since the 2021 spring season as Teddy Jeffries, Caleb Holland and Robert Kendrick scored rushing touchdowns and A.J. Richardson had a touchdown fumble return for the Mountaineers.

South Point improved to 6-0 in a season for the 14th time in school history and first time since 2017 as Cam Medlock and Patrick Blee had two touchdowns apiece for the Red Raiders.
