Four teams from Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln counties entered Friday’s sixth week of the high school football season with unbeaten records.

After Friday’s results, three remain unbeaten as East Lincoln, Kings Mountain and South Point won comfortably to each improve to 4-0 while West Lincoln couldn’t hold a late lead before losing to perennial power Maiden.

East Lincoln took its first-ever win over Statesville with a 28-7 road victory.

Kings Mountain won 56-0 at North Gaston for its 21st straight victory in that rivalry.

And South Point got three touchdown runs from Cam Medlock in a 35-7 victory over visiting Huss.

West Lincoln took a 17-14 lead in the third quarter before host Maiden rallied for a 27-17 victory.

Bessemer City 60, Highland Tech 14: Jameer Holmes had five touchdown passes for Bessemer City.

East Gaston 38, Cherryville 0: Sirr Stovall had 207 yards rushing to lead East Gaston.

Community School of Davidson 56, Mountain Island Charter 6: Mountain Island Charter’s score came on a 100-yard interception return.

Crest 54, Cramer 28: Ny’Tavious Huskey passed for 240 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 56 yards and another touchdown for Crest.

Forestview 24, Ashbrook 21: Forestview took its second straight win over the crosstown rival Green Wave.

Lincolnton 22, Newton-Conover 21: Lincolnton scored a touchdown on the game’s final play and converted the game-winning extra point for the victory.

Hickory 29, North Lincoln 22: North Lincoln couldn’t hold a 22-7 lead against the Tornadoes.

Shelby 55, Thomas Jefferson 6: Daylin Lee had four touchdown passes and one touchdown run for Shelby.
