The pairings have been set for the 2023 North Carolina Area IV Junior American Legion baseball playoffs.

Area IV has crowned champions since 2006 and defending Area IV and N.C. state champion Burns failed to make the 8-team field after the season began with 18 teams split into three divisions.

The top seed is unbeaten Northern Division champion South Caldwell No. 1. They are followed by No. 2 seed East Rutherford (Western Division champion) and No. 3 seed Matthews (Eastern Division champion).

The best-of-3 quarterfinal pairings have No. 8 R-S Central (6-4 overall record) against No. 1 South Caldwell No. 1 (10-0), No. 2 East Rutherford (10-1) against No. 7 South Caldwell No. 2 (6-4), No. 3 Matthews (12-9) against No. 6 Cherryville (8-6) and No. 4 Dallas (7-5) against No. 5 Chase (8-3).

The winner of Area IV gains a berth into the July 14-19 N.C. Legion state tournament hosted by Cherryville; As the host team, Cherryville is guaranteed a berth in the 8-team field and should Post 100 win the Area IV title, the runner-up would get the second Area IV tourney berth.
