Gaston College completed a 3-0 run through the Region 10 tournament on Saturday and now has the school’s first-ever Region 10 championship in only its second year as a program.

The Rhinos, who went 4-16 as a club team last season, improved to 41-8 overall by downing Monroe, N.Y., 2-0 on Saturday at Pine Grove Complex in Lexington, S.C., to earn a berth in theMay 12-13 National Junior College Athletic Association Mid-Atlantic District tournament at Central Alabama CC in Alexander City, Ala.

Region 10 pitcher and player of the year Brantleigh Parrott completed the Region 10 tournament with three victories, 30 strikeouts and allowing six hits to improved to 22-0 with 10 shutouts this season.
