East Lincoln High School’s softball team set history on Friday night as it defeated Rockingham County 2-1 to win the best-of-3 Western N.C. 3A championship series 2 games to 1.

It advances the Mustangs (23-2) to the state finals for the first time in the school’s 56-year history.
