2022-23 COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREVIEW: Former Huss standout preseason All-CIAA at Fayetteville State

Former Huss standout Cress Worthy is a preseason All-CIAA selection at Fayetteville State.

A senior guard, Worthy was named first team All-CIAA in the 2021-22 season when he averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 30 games (28 starts) for the Broncos.

Charleston Southern: Barclay Radebaugh (Lincolnton 1983) is an 18th year head coach for the Buccaneers.

Dartmouth: Demilade “Dame” Adelekun (Gaston Day2019) is a senior forward for the Big Green.

Elon: Former Belmont Abbey standout Sean Halloran is a graduate guard, former Belmont Abbey head coach Billy Taylor is a first-year head coach and former Belmont Abbey assistant coach and Gaston Christian head coach Josh Gross and former Belmont Abbey assistant coach Ryan Saunders are assistant coaches for the Phoenix.

Erskine: Jaylen Prioleau (Piedmont Community Charter 2019) is a junior guard for the Flying Fleet.

Florida A&M: Former Gaston College standout Jaylen Bates is a junior forward for the Rattlers.

Florida State: Leonard Hamilton (Highland 1966, Gaston College 1968) is a 21st-year head coach for the Seminoles.

Gardner-Webb: Former Belmont Abbey standout Quest Aldridge is a senior guard and Shelby’s Isaiah Hicks (Thomas Jefferson 2022) is a freshman guard for the Bulldogs.

Gaston College: Kirk Scoggins (North Gaston 2020) is a sophomore forward and former East Gaston standout Desean Murray is a first-year assistant coach for the Rhinos.

Georgia State: Former Belmont Abbey assistant coach Jonas Hayes is a first-year head coach for the Panthers.

Greensboro College: Jakai Belton (Gaston Day 2019) is a sophomore guard for the Pride.

J.C. Smith: Ezekiel Cannady (Kings Mountain 2022) is a freshman guard for the Golden Bulls.

Lees-McRae: Sidney Dollar (East Lincoln 2019) is a junior forward for the Bobcats.
