Shelby’s Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium and Cherryville’s Fraley Field will host a six-team June Classic American Legion baseball tournament from June 10-12,
The teams will be divided into two pools with Cleveland County, Kinston and Rowan County in Pool A and Cherryville, Randolph County and Wayne County in Pool B.
Here’s the schedule for the event:

Cramer won the JV game 72-50 behind Quinton Rybczyk (16 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists), Amari Littlejohn (13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals), John Adams-McClendon (12 points, 4 rebounds) and Campbell Pierce (9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals).

Northside Christian 60, Gaston Day 43: Former Lincoln Charter standout Sam Cogan had 17 points and Chris Britt had 18 for Gaston Day.
Forestview 70, North Gaston 51 (Thursday): Daris Byers (29 points, 5 assists, 7 steals), Brandon Alfonse (13 points, 8 rebounds) and Christian Williams (8 points, 7 rebounds) led Forestview.

The Charlotte Hornets wasted a good start then staged one of their best comebacks of the year before suffering a heartbreaking 102-101 home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
After the Hornets took a 101-98 lead, the Cavaliers scored the game’s last four points capped by two Kevin Love free throws with 1.2 seconds left.
Terry Rozier (24 points), Kelly Oubre (21 points), LaMelo Ball (15 points, 6 rebounds), Miles Bridges (12 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists) Masom Plumlee (8 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) led Charlotte, which trailed 81-65 early in the fourth quarter before rallying.
The Hornets led 37-27 early in the second quarter before a 43-19 Cleveland surge in the middle of the game to take control of the game.
