Four boys teams and four girls teams advanced to the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association basketball playoff with Thursday victories.
In 3A boys, Crest and North Lincoln remained alive while Lincoln Charter won in 2A boys, Bessemer City in 1A boys, Ashbrook and East Lincoln in 3A girls and Lincoln Charter and Shelby in 2A girls.

Belmont Abbey 110, Southern Wesleyan 91: Quest Aldridge scored 26 points and Sean Halloran 25 as the Crusaders finished the regular season 19-9 overall and 17-7 in Conference Carolinas.
Gaston College 89, Caldwell Tech 87: Dee Merriweather had 34 points and nine 3-pointers and Jaylen Bates scored on a dunk with 3.9 seconds left off a DaMarco Watson assist as the Rhinos completed their Region 10 schedule with an 8-6 record. Gaston College (17-10) closes its regular season on Monday at 7 p.m. at South Point High School against Hosanna Bible College.
Belmont Abbey women 98, Southern Wesleyan 61: Brittany Autry had 22 points to lead the Crusaders (19-9, 17-6).
