One day after he struggled in the Carolina Panthers’ 24-6 home loss to the New England Patriots, Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold will be listed as day to day following tests on right throwing shoulder on Monday, the Associated Press reported on Monday.
Darnold originally injured his shoulder in Carolina’s 19-13 win at the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 31.
Panthers coach Matt Rhule said on Monday he would wait until Wednesday to know more about what his team will do for Sunday’s next game at Arizona. Should Darnold not be able to play, the Panthers would be expected to play backup P.J. Walker; Walker replaced Darnold in the fourth quarter of Carolina’s 25-3 loss at the New York Giants on Oct. 24.
Darnold has thrown 10 interceptions in the last six games, including three in Sunday’s loss with one of them being returned 88 yards for a touchdown.
Whomever plays quarterback will be without two offensive lineman who started Sunday’s game as center Matt Paradis is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee and left tackle Cameron Erving suffered a calf injury; Both players were placed on injured reserve on Monday.
