Cleveland County will be the site of two conference championship games next week after all four of the county’s teams enjoyed blowout wins on Friday.
Kings Mountain (8-1, 6-0) will host Crest (6-2, 6-0) for the Big South 3A Conference title and Shelby (8-1, 5-0) will host Burns (7-2, 5-0) for the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference title.
Kings Mountain shutout Ashbrook 51-0 and Crest rolled past Huss 57-6 to set up the third straight regular season finale between the two Cleveland County rivals for the Big South title.
Shelby won 62-28 at East Gaston and Burns shutout Cherryville 47-0 as the those two schools’ matchup will determine the league champion for a second straight season.

Cramer 49, North Gaston 14: The visiting Storm improved to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the Big South entering next week’s finale against Forestview.
South Point 17, Forestview 14 (2 OT): Charles Birtwhistle’s field goal in the second overtime was the difference in a thrilling matchup at Forestview’s Alala Stadium.
East Lincoln 42, North Iredell 0: East Lincoln heads into next week’s county rivalry with North Lincoln with a chance to finish in second place.
North Lincoln 50, West Iredell 0: The Knights improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the Western Foothills 3A Conference.
Maiden 27, Lincolnton 7: Lincolnton’s four-game winning streak came to an end against unbeaten Maiden.
West Lincoln 16, East Burke 14: Mason Avery rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns and had nine tackles for West Lincoln (7-2, 4-2).
Mountain Island Charter 39, W-S Carver 0: The visiting Raptors improved to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in league play.

The Charlotte Hornets are off to their first 2-0 start to a season since 2016-17 after overcoming an 11-point second quarter deficit to win 123-112 at Cleveland.
The Cavaliers led 49-38 before Charlotte rallied to close within 59-54 at the half and took the lead for good late in the third quarter.
Miles Bridges (30 points, 7 rebounds), Kelly Oubre (25 points), Gordon Hayward (18 points, 9 assists), LaMelo Ball (17 points, 6 assists) led Charlotte, which plays again on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Brooklyn.
