The Crest Chargers pulled off an improbable come-from-behind 27-26 win over visiting South Point on Friday night to remain atop the Big South 3A Conference standings.

Crest (4-1, 4-0) trailed 26-14 with 6 1-2 minutes left before scoring two touchdowns in the next 2 1-2 minutes to take the lead and later survived a long South Point field goal try on the final play of the game to take the victory.

The Chargers outgained South Point 388-336 but the Red Raiders’ Tyson Riley had a game-high 233 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns.

Mari Adams led Crest with 180 yards rushing and 32 yards passing and Chargers quarterback Nytavious Huskey had 153 yards passing and TD throws to Malachi Addison and Javarious Green.

Kings Mountain 28, Forestview 14: The Mountaineers overcome an early 7-0 deficit to improve to 3-0 in Big South Conference.

Cramer 33, Huss 2: The Storm routed visiting visiting Huss to keep the Huskies winless on the season.

Ashbrook 47, North Gaston 20: Ashbrook took its first win of at North Gaston.

East Lincoln 45, West Iredell 0: The Mustangs rolled to stop their two-game losing streak.

North Lincoln 50, North Iredell 0: The Knights improved to 4-2 with the victory.

Lincolnton 27, Bandys 7: The Wolves won their second straight game after snapping a nine-game losing streak.

Bunker Hill 15, West Lincoln 7: West Lincoln lost for the second straight week to an unbeaten team.

Burns 42, Bessemer City 0: Ben Mauney had three touchdown passes and one touchdown run to lead Burns to the victory.

Patton 22, Cherryville 14: The visitors knocked off Cherryville.

Shelby 72, Highland Tech 0: Daylin Lee threw four touchdown passes as Shelby scored 37 first quarter points in the easy road victory.

East Gaston 42, Thomas Jefferson 37: East Gaston rallies late for its third straight win to improve to 4-2.

Mountain Island Charter 42, Winston-Salem Prep 14: The Raptors took their first league win to improve to 4-1.
