1-25-22: Pro basketball and Middle school basketball

By Richard Walker

Former Forestview High and Gaston Day School standout Nate Hinton is thriving in the G-League.

A 2018 Gaston Day graduate, Hinton scored a professional career-high 31 points on Saturday for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in a 124-122 loss to the Grand Rapids Gold.

In five games for Fort Wayne, which is the Indiana Pacers’ G-League affiliate, Hinton is averaging 18.4 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists.

A free agent signee of the Dallas Mavericks after going undrafted out of the University of Houston, Hinton played 21 games for the Dallas Mavericks last season and has played two games this season for the Pacers.
