Cleveland County’s Kings Mountain and Shelby sit atop the standings in the Big South 3A boys and girls and Southern Piedmont 1A/2A boys and girls races, respectively, following a week in more games were postponed than played due to inclement weather.
Here’s a result from Friday:
South Point boys 73, Cramer 71: Jaquis Rumph (25 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals), Cooper Ray (19 points), Sully Absher (10 points, 9 rebounds) and Quay Harris (9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals) led South Point.

Winthrop 64, Gardner-Webb 62: The Runnin’ Bulldogs (9-10, 3-3) couldn’t hold onto a 10-point second half lead as the host Eagles closed the game on a 29-17 run to hand Gardner-Webb its’ third straight Big South Conference loss. Lance Terry’s game-high 20 points led the Runnin’ Bulldogs.
Charlotte 67, Rice 64: The 49ers (10-7, 3-2) took their first Conference USA road win of the season as Austin Butler and Jackson Threadgill had 14 points apiece, Clyde Trapp had 11 points and Jahmir Young had 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Davidson 69, Fordham 66: The Wildcats extended their winning streak to 15 games with the Atlantic 10 road victory.
Belmont Abbey 92, King 85: Mario Lacy, Jr., had 20 points and nine rebounds as the Crusaders improved to 9-7 overall and 7-5 in Conference Carolinas.
Belmont Abbey women 76, King 61: Brittany Autry had 23 points and 16 rebounds as the Crusaders (9-5, 7-3) won their fourth straight Conference Carolinas games.
