Bridges had 22 points in the first quarter as Charlotte (24-20) took the lead for good and added 16 more points as the Hornets won without guard LaMelo Ball. Ruled available before the game due to a non-COVID illness, Ball did not play in the game.

Bridges, who also had 12 rebounds and five assists, was complemented by Terry Rozier (22 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists) and Hayward (16 points) as the Hornets improved to 6-10 all-time in Martin Luther King, Jr., games.
