Three former local standouts will be playing this weekend for NFL playoff teams and another local standout has been signed for next season.

Tanner Muse (58) celebrates during last week’s Seattle victory over the Los Angeles Rams that, coupled with Detroit’s win at Green Bay, clinched a playoff berth for the Seahawks.

The Minnesota Vikings (13-4) with Jonathan Bullard (Crest 2012 graduate) and Nick Muse (South Point 2017) won the NFC North Division title and will host the New York Giants on 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Bullard was placed on injured reserve two weeks ago with a biceps injury; The seven-year NFL defensive tackle has 23 tackles in 11 games (7 starts) this season.

Nick Muse, a tight end, played in three games for the Vikings in his rookie season.

Nick Muse’s older brother Tanner Muse (South Point 2015) and the Seattle Seahawks were the last NFC team to make the playoffs and the No. 7 seed Seahawks play at the NFC West Division champion San Francisco 49ers on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

A linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks, Tanner Muse mad 14 tackles in 15 games this season, including six in the last two games.

Another local product – Chazz Surratt (East Lincoln 2016) – was signed to a reserve/future contract on Monday by the New York Jets after making on tackle in one game this season as a second-year linebacker.

New Charlotte 49ers head football coach Biff Poggi has announced the date and time of his first spring game.
